Primary 7 had a wonderful experience at their trip to The Ulster American Folk Park yesterday. It was the perfect culmination of their World Around Us topic on Famine. The day was filled with lots of experiences that brought history to life. They visited a poignant famine cottage, gaining insight into the harsh conditions of the time, and learned about education during the famine era at a replica schoolhouse. A highlight of the trip was boarding a replica of a famine ship, which would have carried many Irish emigrants to America in search of a better life. What a fantastic day!
